In a New City & Establishing a New Routine!

Check out more pics of me in my temporary new city by clicking the link below!

http://www.vitrixmodelteam.com/team-blog/my-multi-city-adventure.html

For the past few weeks, I have been adjusting to living in a new city, and with that comes adjusting to a new routine. I have been fortunate to have experienced living in a few different parts of the country over the past 3 years. I love a new environment, different people, different pace of life, different scenery; it's really allowed me to grow both professionally and personally in such great ways. Very soon I will be moving one more time (always prompted by professional/job-related reasons) and staying put for a much longer time, so I am enjoying this adventure of multi-city living while I can! :) The hardest part for me about moving somewhere new is finding my routine. Anyone who is passionate about health and fitness and truly dedicated 365 days of the year to their fitness goals will tell you that routine is key to staying on track! I have to have my exact time of day that I schedule my workouts, when I prep and pack my food, which gym I am going to on which days (since I sometimes have at least a couple memberships), what's my split, etc. My routine becomes even more important working from home with online clients in order to stay on task and remain productive. Generally it takes me about a week or two after moving to find a daily routine that I am comfortable and satisfied with, and for me, finding this is extremely important in order to eliminate/minimize my own stress levels! Yes, I come across as easy-going and laid back but I can be pretty high strung behind the scenes. Sure it's good to be flexible too, but I can assure that you that any successful personal will tell you that a daily routine and structure is key to their success. I would encourage anyone who is struggling with meeting their goals - whether they be fitness, professional, or personal/emotional related - to take a look at their daily routine. Is there a routine? Do you fall off of the routine completely on weekends? Where are you lacking discipline? I think we all can say we are more productive when we have our daily set schedule. Here is what a typical weekday looks like for me:

6am: Wake up, take fat burners, get dressed and drive to gym

6:30am: Am cardio

7:45am: eat breakfast

8am: take dogs out for am walk

8:30am: answer emails, be active on social networking sites, study for CSCS

10:30am: eat meal #2

10:45am: write and update online training programs, study for CSCS

1:30pm: eat meal #3

2:00pm: walk to grocery store or anywhere else I have errands (I live in a downtown area, so I walk almost everywhere).

3:00pm: write for different blogs and online fitness magazines, edit video for my website and youtube, update my personal website. (Mondays and Fridays I will also do laundry here & other house cleaning chores)

4:00pm: eat meal #4; cook any food for next day needing to be cooked

5:00pm: feed and walk dogs

5:30pm: more email; social networking; drink an energy drink, coffee or take another fat burner

6:30pm: eat meal #5

7pm: drive to gym and workout! Weights and sometimes pm cardio

8:45pm: shower, watch TV, make to-do list for following day

9:30pm: eat last meal, drink some decaf coffee

10:00-10:30pm: Bed!

Weekends

Am cardio and all meals and meal times remain the same. I workout earlier though, usually after meal 2 or 3 and I have a cheat meal Saturday night - yay! The rest of the day I shop, relax and do other errands, more email.

I Moved!! And how about more Bikini Sling Shot Action?

Training is going great this week. I added in a "Plyo" day last week which absolutely tore my hamstrings and glutes up!! ...in a good way of course :) I also added in more fish to my diet this last week which isn't a bad thing for me since I do love both Tilapia and Orange Roughy. My cardio is staying a little higher, but my calories are also a little higher than normal; I have a few more added fats in my diet as well as fibrous vegetables at 5 of my 6 meals. Last year I think I only had one meal where I ate a serving of veggies during prep!

I actually just posted all of the intricate details of both my workouts and nutrition & supplement program in the Members Section of my website.

I also posted a new gallery - "Ocean Sling" today!! Preview Pic above. View the entire 23 image gallery HERE

And lastly, I did move back to the South East - hurray! So happy to be back where it feels like home. You can read about my move from So Cal here: http://www.vitrixmodelteam.com/team-blog/cat-has-moved.html

Cardio and Pedi's

Today was a cardio day - double sessions on my favorites - the PreCore 100iT and treadmill. I woke up with my legs absolutely anihilated from training them the day before...SO sore. It took getting through my first 3 meals before they didn't feel sore anymore. But, I was a cardio queen today and KILLED it! Also thanks to my favorite burner - Lipo-6 Hers Black Ultra Concentrate, I had amazing energy for the whole day.

To treat my legs and feet for all of their hard work, I got a pedicure! This wasn't just any pedicure, this was an amazing pedicure. The massage was one of the longest and best I've ever had. It felt amazing on my sore shins and calves. Now my tiny lil toes are all dolled up with "Fiji Paradise" polish color and they feel amazing all soft and smooth and relaxed from their massage :)

Jacksonville Pro and Dallas Europa Pro Recap

Backstage at the Dallas Europa

Dallas Europa August 13-14

Back needs to come way up!! Love my glutes and lower half, esp the conditioning - never been this good! But, I know my glutes can still reduce in size a little. For whatever reason, I build muscle in my glutes SO easily!!

Jacksonville Figure Pro, August 6-7th

If I told you the sheer amounts of food it takes to fill out my muscles, you might not believe me. Day of the show alone, over 20 oz. of fillet steak, over 20 oz red potatoes, almost 300g of a fast digesting carb drink...I still had room to be fuller LOL But, this was by far my best year physique-wise yet!

It's been one week since the whirlwind of back-to-back shows and I am finally getting a chance to sit down, relax and blog on my mini vacation in Hilton Head Island, SC! First off, I had a blast at both shows, even though I did not place at either. I truly just enjoy competing, and I treasure the friendships I have made along the way because of it. There has been more business opportunities that have opened up for me over the past couple of years through competing and being at shows than if I had chosen to just stay at home. I also love and appreciate the journey of competing far more than the short amount of time I get to stand on stage (although if you choose to compete at shows with 30+ girls, then at least your time on stage is prolonged LOL). I love to train really hard and I love to shape and refine my body. The fun and satisfaction for me comes out of making positive changes to my physique, that I am happy with, every time I step on stage. It was incredibly special for me to receive so much positive feedback on the great improvements I made to my Figure physique this year. I was over 6lbs heavier and I was leaner this year on stage! But, I also took a full year off from contest prep to make these changes. It was just about exactly a year of an off-season before I started a full-on contest prep again. My goal for my next contest is to add 3 lbs of muscle to my upper body - primarily my back. I would like to keep my legs and lower half pretty much the same size and conditioning, but just bring up more width and thickness through my back and shoulders to match my lower half. And now the fun of making changes begins!! I most likely will not compete again until spring of 2011. In order for me to make more changes, I need a good several months outside of prep. I will continue to do photo and video shoots monthly, and I will also be working for bodybuilding.com at the Olympia. Make sure to check out my progress there: http://my.bodybuilding.com/photos/view/type/progress

Summer Updates!

Shoulder Training at 7 weeks out from Jax Pro
With my friend Tiff at the NPC Mid Florida - a fun night passing out awards!...sporting a Fantasy Tan glow too :)

Jason and I took a Bahama cruise end of April, right before I started contest prep. The perfect end to a great off-season :)

Crazy how time flies by so fast and I realize my last post was before the AC weekend! I have a new business going, which is taking off so fast it's keeping me very busy! It's a mobile airbrush tanning business in the greater Orlando area. I use Fantasy Tan airbrushing systems and products for the most even, flawless, natural looking tan you can imagine! The website is: http://www.tropicaltans2go.com/.

I'm still training clients and holding outdoor women's bootcamps. I have such a good clientele - dedicated and motivated, it's the best! Even despite the summer heat, the outdoor bootcamps are going strong. Nothing wrong with sweating a little more :)

I am 6.5 weeks out of the Jacksonville Pro. I began prep almost 6 weeks ago and I feel really good about where I am at. It's been a LONG off-season of rebuilding and reshaping for my next appearance on the pro stage, but I can see now it was worth it. It's not that I wanted to be absent from the stage this long (hard to be that patient!), it just was necessary. My body needed a lot of heavy, volume training. I hit back and legs twice a week, shoulders once. I had a very healthy and fit off-season, staying close but not too close to contest weight. Cardio I kept at 5x/week and had 2 cheat meals a week. Once I started prep, my diet was being manipulated pretty much weekly, and cheat meals are given as needed (which is still double chicken burrito from Chipotle with a bag of chips!). My cardio was up'd significantly the first 2.5-3 weeks (twice a day), but now has been reduced more than in half (once a day). My body gets to a point where it just wants to start dropping weight VERY quickly, so it was time to pull back on the reigns. Good news is, this prep is flying by and my energy is really good!

I have another shoot with Walt Ostarly next week...lots of video and galleries will be posting to the member's section of my website from that next month. I have new training videos posted in both the member's section of my website and YouTube, so check them out :)

Jr. Nationals Weekend in Chicago

Go Terri, Go Terri! Terri won Class D and the Overall - yay!!!! You like her suit?? ;) It has winning vibes all over it now! My shirt is from Ana Tigre's new clothing line - so many cute ones to choose from!!
You can kinda see the massive carrot cake Ana Tigre had waiting for us all after the show...you can't see the massive deep dish pizza we tore into after the show. You'd think I had been competing or something...SUCH a fun night!!

Good job to our client Ryan Everson!! She placed 12th in class D at her second ever national show. Ryan has made a huge transformation since working with us beginning in May of 2008. She will be going onto the USA's in 4.5 weeks!

Ryan, getting her sexy hair all done up for the show :)

Good job to our client Becky Youngberg! She has made AMAZING improvements to her physique over the past 6 months she has been with us. She is a tall class girl, hard worker and one of the sweetest people I know. Becky will also be in Vegas for the USA's.

I love Jr. Nationals in Chicago; I always have! The venue is awesome, and it's Chicago. Almost everyone from the industry is bound to be there, and the competitor showing is always huge. Just a fun, fun show to be at! My first ever national show took place here in 2006, where I placed 9th. 2007, I placed 12th, and the next year I got my pro card :) No matter what my placing was the 3 seasons I competed nationally, I always had a blast in Chicago. Maybe it was the convenient venue itself, maybe it's because it was my first national show ever, or maybe it's the amazing pizza...I think it's a combination of everything. Whatever the case, it will forever hold a special place in my heart! Congratulations Terri!! You did it! You worked your butt off for this, and I admire your perseverance and work ethic. You deserve everything good! I love you girl! Check out Terri in this month's issue of Flex Magazine - HOT!!!

We returned home Sunday night to 92 degree weather...our boot camp ladies love us even more right now..hahahaha, riiiiight :)
